Lexip – The 3D Gaming Mouse with 2 Internal Joysticks
Lexip is a revolutionary gaming mouse that comes with 2 internal joysticks.
Living inside the computer screen all days long doesn’t have to be boring, there are a lot of ways to entertain yourself. What I mean by that is — PC gaming.
From a simple pixelated offline game to a high-level simulation strategy game, gaming takes your soul a brief moment away from the real life. By putting yourself in the virtual world, you can do all the things that can’t be achieved in reality. In fact, gaming is not just for kids neither just for the entertaining purpose, to some, It’s a new lifestyle. Since 2010, becoming a professional gamer is no longer a dream and It’s coined “eSports”.
While the software is getting advanced, never let the hardware stops you. If the keyboard is your secondary, the mouse is then your first weapon. The kind of mice you used may depend on what game you are playing, but here are some of the few big names that we can never skip when talk about gaming gears — Razer, SteelSeries, and Logitech.
Maybe it’s time to add a new one. Meet Lexip.
Regardless if you are a weekend warrior or having your own competitive team, Lexip is a new hack to improve your skills. It is designed for both casual and professional-grade players to achieve more with one hand by having 2 internal joysticks built-in.
The first joystick is a two-axis analog joystick located near the thumb. It features a +/- 30˚ in all direction where you can have a quick access to your pre-determined keys, shortcuts, and commands, without using your keyboard. The second joystick consists of a joystick shell as the base to the floating mouse, where you can intuitively maneuver by simply tilting it to any direction on the plane surface. It has a +/- 20˚ with high precision.
Lexip uses an ADNS-9800 laser captor where it offers 8200 dpi with a speed acceleration of 150 ips/30g (Ips stands for Inches per second). Also, It is compatible with all types of game, including popular online games like Minecraft, League of Legends, Besiege, Star Citizen and Overwatch.
Did I forget to mention that it’s for left-handed gamers too?
Review and Discussion
Having joystick on the mouse may not be a big news, but surely is fresh and innovative. By having 2 joysticks, players have a significant advantage over the other players when playing a certain game, especially the shooting games like Star Citizen. However, it is less useful in some other strategy games like the World of Warcraft or League of Legends, since players are already developed their own effective way to deal with the gameplay mechanics. Sometimes, a joystick is unnecessary.
On the other hand, although we can customize the mouse setting to compatible with the certain games, it is limiting to a certain extent. For instance, the floating joystick is useful in cases where you need to do a specific task such as adjusting while shooting, but most of the time, it can be disturbing as a simple tilt will easily move the screen/zoom unexpectedly.
In compared to the professional-grade gaming mice (like this one) with an average of 12,000 dpi and 450 IPS / 50 g acceleration, Lexip’s spec is seemingly faded and is just not there yet. However, in order for this new mouse on its way to the pro scene, more testing and research might be required.
Meanwhile, Lexip is more than enough for any casual gamers!
For hardware, like many others, Lexip offering a one-size-fits-all mouse dimension. The size is slightly smaller than Razer’s Nage and It’s definitely a bad news for big hands folks out there. Also, for Mac users, you may need to wait for a little while until Lexip releases their OS support, Lexip is now supporting only the Window’s. However, the creators have been currently discussing on this matter. Until then, let’s wait for the good news!
For the price, Lexip is now on Kickstarter starts at only $111 (Early Bird). You can learn more and grab one from here.
